The Voice of San Diego Podcast

VOSD’s Friday roundup of the past week’s news in brief, featuring interviews with special guests and more.

We tried something new for this episode of VOSD Radio: half-baked ideas. They're things that have popped into our heads that might help San Diego. As the name suggests, they're not all the way thought through. There's no formal plan. But if talked about, they could lead to something — a semi-interesting conversation at the very least. Scott Lewis and Andrew Donohue each brought three ideas. Donohue's: the coordinated removal of San Diego's ubiquitous chain link fences, a restaurant known for double tortilla chips, and the embracing of elevated rail on boulevards like El Cajon and Rosecrans. Lewis': the closing of two main streets for pedestrian traffic only (like 30th or Broadway), charging for parking at the beach to fund a beach trolley line, and the crowdfunding of a local Major League Soccer team.
